While this dating site also has payment options like its competitors, the one thing which makes it distinct is that women are allowed to join the site for free, and they can get full access without having to pay any monthly membership fees.

Another thing that I find good about this site is the speed in which one can sign up. Unlike other dating sites, where signing up can be a time consuming headache, you can actually set up a membership with WealthyMen in less than five minutes. With the first part, you will just need to describe yourself, and with the second, you will want to describe your ideal match. The three basic membership levels for WealthyMen are Free, Silver, and Gold. Once you become a member, you will be given access to a Network Center which will track everyone who has been added within the network. This makes tracking your potential matches quite easy, and uploading your photos is simple with the site's image uploading tool.

The verification for WealthyMen is very detailed. Prior to becoming a member, a man must fax their photo, along with a photocopy of their driver's license. To verify the male's income, the website requires him to fax in either a bank or completed tax statement. After the verification process is complete, the user will be required to pay for a monthly membership, and proponents state that this makes the site a very safe and convenient environment to work in. While many heterosexual males use the site, it offers support for homosexual men as well. There are a number of controversies with WealthyMen which should be obvious. First off, the site's verification process is questionable, and in my opinion, totally ineffective. This company attempts to screen men by having them either fax in copies of a bank statement or a tax form, but did they ever stop to think that all this information could simply be fake? In an age of Adobe Photoshop and other image manipulation tools, anything is possible, and even a beginning graphic artist could easily create fake bank statements or tax forms.

Yes, WealthyMen could attempt to get around this problem by requesting the social security numbers of its members, but this opens up a Pandora's Box full of problems, including identity theft, privacy issues, and many others. If the company started asking for SSNs in order to verify its members, these numbers would have to be stored in a database, and who is to say that some hacker, or an employee working within this company, wouldn't compromise data within the database, particularly when it contains the SSNs of wealthy men?

The second criticism of this dating site is its definition of "wealthy." The same charge can be made against all the other "rich men" and "sugar daddy" dating sites available on the web today. The words "wealth" and "rich" are abstract terms that are open to interpretation. Like beauty, it may largely be in the eyes of the beholder, but simple math can be used to make my point. For example, if a man makes $100,000 a year at his job, this would qualify him to be a member of WealthyMen, but what if this same man has a $30,000 Mercedes that he is making payments on, a mortgage that is worth $300,000, and $15,000 in credit card debt? Lets add to this all the student loans he racked up in college for $40,000.

While this man might "qualify" to be a member of WealthyMen, the fact of the matter is that his debt racks up to a total of $385,000, which means his net worth is actually around -$285,000. Anyone who has studied finance knows that "net worth," and not "income," is a true measure of a person's wealth. Even the Forbes list of the 400 wealthiest people in the world always measure their wealth by their net worth, as opposed to their income. When you add to this the fact that 19% of people who make $100,000 per year live paycheck to paycheck, it becomes obvious why WealthyMen is largely a joke. While some Americans two years ago would have qualified as "millionaires" due to the values of their mortgages, the recent mortgage collapse has revealed the truth that these people were not truly affluent.

In the end, WealthyMen is a dating site for gold diggers and shallow men looking for trophy wives, and if you're a man looking for this type of woman, perhaps you would be better off looking for a whore, because there is little difference between the two.
