Overview

I think the site goes way too far in doing background checks on members. Would I like to date a felon? NO. But I don't want to be the online version of a full body scan either. I passed on progressing further due to this. I felt concerned of my privacy.

Summary

If one is that serious about dating someone without a felony or criminal past, this is the site for them. I understand there are a lot of spammer and scammers out there but why must the honest public suffer for them? I don't like background checks on me because although I have nothing to hide, it is a violation of my individual privacy and unless an employer issues it, there is no way I would hand my info to an online dating site so willingly. Who knows where that info is filtered or stored?

I don't feel safe with convicts, of course I do not. But I do not feel safe with a check on my background either. What's next? A swab of my DNA?

There must be a middle ground as opposed to such an extreme measure for safety. An adult must learn common sense and to protect him or herself from bad people and an adult must use discretion. If more people were vigilant about their own safety, there would be no sites like True.com.

This site is for the paranoid and the burned. What do the matches discuss? Do they discuss how jaded they are and exchange horror stories about being scammed? I have no idea. I did not stick around long enough to find out.
