Spark.com Review

Spark.com boasts having 16,000 active members but how many of them are legitimate?

The Good

Filling out a profile is fast and easy * Monthly rate ( in bulk ) is inexpensive * Speed dating is arranged by the web site for actual in person meet and greets * Ratio of men and women is decent.

The Bad

* Customer service is non-existent * Accounts get blocked if no photo is posted in a short span of time * There are so many scammers and spammers on here that sorting through who the legitimate people are is a struggle.

Overview

When this site works, it really works. When it fails, it fails in epic proportions. I did a test membership there and tried to cancel it in ten minutes. Guess what? I am unable to cancel it because there are no refunds. Then? My in-box there was FILLED with potential daters but nine out of ten were millionaires hoping to borrow money from me so that their millions (in locked accounts) could be released. In other words, scammers are on the hustle and prowl there.

The women in their photos are almost too good to be true, as well. Whereas the men are more regular looking. I am wondering if that means that women are hotter in general or perhaps those profiles are made by charlatans (also millionaires with money locked away).

Costs

$19.99 per month for standard members with a choice to also buy a three-month membership in bulk for $39.99 and six-months for $59.94.

A premium membership costs more at $24.99 per month with a choice to also buy a three-month membership in bulk for $51.99 and six-months for $77.94

Features

The site offers in person speed dating which is a very cool feature. Other features are on line chats and email capabilities. There are virtual flirts, too. I didn't see too much of a difference between standard membership and premium, however. Perhaps it is because I did not stick around for too long to sense a difference.

Search Options

They seemed more basic than other sites with location, age and gender as the staple.

Summary

In conclusion, what a personal disappointment. I blew $24.99 in a short span of time because there was absolutely no help from the site. The scammers and spammers ruined it for me and instead of blocking and not reimbursing me, the site should be blocking those schmucks a'muck out there. Seriously. It's not worth a penny to check out but I gave this an honest assessment and had to rate this site also based on other criteria like features and ease of use - both of which ranked just fine. I really do appreciate the opportunity of speed dating. Who knows? Perhaps some millionaires with locked bank accounts shall wish to meet me in real time and person?
