Overview

This site is a sham. It was obvious from the moment I read that women were free to join but that men had to pay for the membership. This is an old bait and switch trick that opens doors for scammers, shammers and....wait for it....spammers. Most women on the site are fake profiles or are single for a reason. In other words, a free for all for women means you get the kind of woman hoping to meet her prince for pennies. You know the type. She usually looks attractive after seven beers.

Costs

Men only will pay $49.95 per month for every month (no bulk savings) but there is a three-day trial for $1.95. Be sure to cancel it on your own, however, otherwise you will be paying $49.5 per month until you do.

Features

Emailing capabilities, voice profiling, instant messaging, and chatting.

Search Options

Age, location, gender, straight or gay, relationship status, and relationship type (long termed, friendship, or dating).

Summary

What a sham this site was. Free for women? Come on. Any man who joins after being told those terms must be kidding himself. You get what you pay for, gentleman. Either she will be completely out of your league or rather in a MUCH lower league or she will be WAY above your league and not a real person. Would you rather someone unattractive or a fake hooker who will never meet you but will ask you to continue to pay for your membership at Mate1.com.

Secondly, because I was doing research on this site, I set up a fake gmail account and let it rip. Within three minutes I was completely spammed out. I had to erase my account only after two hours of use. It was THAT disgusting. I hasten to think of those who used their main email account. Must be hell.

Third? The customer services department is nowhere to be found. They could care less about my spam so I am presuming they don't have a handle on the fake profiling being done there either.

Poor men. If I were a man and I joined this site, I'd be so turned off by women I might actually start dating my toaster or television - they have more to offer me in return and are of real value.
