Date.com Review

With over two million users world wide, Date.com is a popular place to meet others but it might not be all it's cracked up to be.

The Good

Tons of members * Ratio of men to women is good * Gay and lesbians are welcomed.

The Bad

Terrible customer service * Very difficult to cancel membership * Site is rather archaic looking.

Overview

Date.com is a run of the mill site for those looking to date but patient enough to sort through fake profiles. I am convinced my email in box was filled with men who seemed too good to be true because as soon as I joined for a fee, they were gone. Does Date.com pay people to do that for them? Additionally, I have no idea how to get my money back as customer service is an address and there is no way to email or call them - as far as I was able to tell.

Costs

Too much. But for $24.95 a month or $74.95 for six months (and $99.950 per year) one my attempt to connect. Attempt.

Features

Emailing, chat rooms, dating advice (yawn). The usual stuff most dating sites bragged about doing ten years ago.

Search Options

Again, much of muchness. Age, gender, location, interests, etc. Profile pictures are also easy to post and peruse but it seems many are faked photos.

Summary

I will never use Date.com. It reminds me of the green color of my gym in elementary school. It was painted in the 1950's and was still there in the 1970's when I attended. And in 2010, STILL there. Date.com is like that. It needs updating in a huge way and it CRAVES customer service. There is none and it needs it. That would sell the site a lot better. The cost is lower than most sites but so what? You'll never get your money's worth nor will you be reimbursed when the realization hits. Stay far away. Like really far.
