Dating Simulations or Dating Sims are a genre of video games, originating in Japan, with many distinct elements. The main objective of these video games is to interact socially with other characters, date and eventually consummate a romantic relationship including marriage and having children.
Typically in dating sims, the user controls an avatar that is either male or female and is placed into a community with a sizable selection of avatars of the same sex and opposite sex. The gameplay requires conversing with a selection of girls or guys for a fixed time period which could be one week or five years. In order to increase your players attractiveness, many games have an attraction meter which can be boosted by exercise or by taking care of your character and grooming your character throughout the game.
Success and progress in the game is determined by properly winning over the girls or boys, finishing dating one of the girls or boys, having sex with the girl or boy, or marrying the girl or boy. Ultimate success in many of these games is achieving a relationship with the person controlling the avatar outside of the simulation world. This game was first released in the United States on the Playstation by Taito. In this game, the user selects one of three possible girls to date and then the player is positioned on a board game. The main goal of the game is to build a successful farm, however the player is provided with the opportunity of dating and relationships. This game is definitely not intended for users under the age of 18 as success in this game revolves around full consummate sex scenes.
